The intro for Skylanders Giants is good, and here's why
We begin by going back to the Ruins, the hub world of the first game and the location of the Core of Light that we worked so hard to rebuild. Compared to the last time we were there, we can see that the state of the Ruins has improved. Some buildings have been rebuilt, the grass grows a lush green colour, flora has returned to the once bare rocks, and the Core itself still stands proud in the centre of it all. Not to mention the music that plays is the theme of the Ruins from Spyro's Adventure.
Then we change our focus to Flynn and Cali, protagonists from the first game. Flynn shows off Dreadyacht to Cali proudly, while Cali is worried that the Dreadyacht isn't even safe to fly. Before Cali can voice her concerns, Hugo (yet another protagonist from the first game) interrupts them both and brings news that Master Eon has contacted a Portal Master (us) to send Skylanders and Giants to investigate claims made by a hermit. After some back and forth, Flynn and Cali take off from the Ruins, leaving Hugo behind.
By now, the music of the Ruins has switched to the theme of Giants.
That scene is great I tell you. We start off in a familiar location with familiar characters. By the end, we're leaving that place behind. It shows that we're leaving our previous adventure behind and charting course for new adventure!
