Writing

While not vital to making your page feel old, consider how you write when making your page. Have you noticed that I've been using "web site" instead of "website" this entire time? That form of writing the word web site was much more common in the 90's and early 00's compared to today. If you're up for going above and beyond in making your page feel a little more authentic, take note of how you write.

Hosting

In regards to hosting, you can either host your site yourself, pay a company to host your site, or use a free service such as Neocities. Personally, I prefer Neocities since it's free and has a strong focus on personal expression and creativity, perfect for Old Net styled sites.

Resolutions

Old web sites were usually designed with lower resolutions. I personally use 1024x768 as the resolution for this site, but you could go down to 800x600 if you wish.

Neocities Tips

This is specifically aimed at Neocities, but can apply to any web builder. Neocities only gives you 1 GB of memory on its free plan, so to save up on alloted space, consider uploading your image files elsewhere, like Imgur or ImgBB, and keep only HTML files here.
